I often wonder what the attraction that a dog has to that little round object called the ball. 
My Border Collie Apollo
, loves, obsess and chases the ball every chance he gets. In our house, we have many code words for this ball- "the demon orb", the "round object" , the "sphere". There are many times we can not mention the "b" word as it will put Apollo into a frenzie- looking for that lost (in a tree) or hidden (we just can not through it anymore) ball. He will chase it, fetch it and catch it, any chance he gets. 
Now there are times we have to hide the ball, as he tends to neglect his best bud Waylon, which leaves Waylon dazed and confused as to why Apollo is ignoring him.
